About the Facility

The aquatic biosecurity laboratory for clinical trials is located at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh North Carolin. The facility was established with funds provided by the NC Biotechnology Center, College of Veterinary Medicine and the AECL. The faculty is housed in a self-contained structure comprised of eight rooms. Incoming water is stored on site, and conditioned by filtration and ultraviolet light. The quarantine room, and control treatment room are separated from experimental treatment rooms by a class partition. A vertical laminar flow hood, and pass through autoclave are available on site.

The facility is available to aquatic animal health researchers for clinical studies with aquatic animal species. We encourage investigators to consider using the facility when preparing proposals for funding and planning experiments. Use the links below to take a tour of the facility, contact us and inform us of your interest in using the facility, prepare a proposal that will include the use of the facility, and guide your experiments in the facility. Our staff is available to assist you with the planning process. State of the art laboratory facilities are available for visiting scientists interested in using the facility.
