Enteric Pathogens in Shellfish in Puerto Rico: An Integrated Approach

Length of persistence of Salmonella spp and E. coli in Corbicula fluminea, Crassostrea rhizophorea and Isognum alatus to determine their potential as sentinels of bacterial contamination in their respective habitats

Shoreline Microbiological Survey of Boqueron Bay in Cabo Rojo, Puerto  Rico: Detection of Vibrio parahaemolticus

Norovirus and Human enterovirus detection in the mangorve oyster, Crassostrea rhizophorea, and in the hard clam, Mercernaria mercenaria, from Puerto Rico

Determination of surface associated and internal total microbial  populations by TRFLP method in the mangrove oyster (Crassostrea rhizophorea) obtained from Boqueron Bay in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico

All of the projects listed above are in collaboration with the Center for Environmental Education,  Conservation and Interpretation (CECIA-acronym in Spanish) of the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico

Delmarva Tomato Initiative: Characterization of Salmonella spp. in environmental samples  obtained from tomato irrigation fields in the Delmarva peninsula
