Multipex assay

A multiplex real-time PCR assay amplifying fecal mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) was developed that facilitates identifying potential sources of fecal contamination in surface waters. Primer/Probe sets have been designed for the following species:

Human
Swine
Bovine

Dairy cow

Single Assay
Sheep
Goat
Horse
Dog
Cat
Canada goose

Please let us know if we can help with any fecal source tracking issues by completing the AECL mtDNA assay form.
